This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of Rapid Crush, Inc. (“Rapid Crush,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use yesengineer.com (the “Site”). Yes Engineer is a publication operated by Rapid Crush, Inc. and written by Ellis Marsh.

By using the Site you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

Information we collect

When you sign up for one or more of our lists — the main newsletter, the training launch list, or the opportunities launch list — we collect:

• Email address (required)
• First name (optional)
• Which list or lists you subscribed to, and any later changes you make to those choices
• The IP address of the device used to sign up
• The user agent string of that device
• The page URL where the signup occurred
• The exact text of the consent action shown to you at signup
• Timestamps for signup, confirmation email sent, and confirmation click
• The IP address at confirmation click
• Bounce, complaint, and unsubscribe events reported back to us by mailbox providers and our email delivery service, used to suppress further sends to addresses that no longer want or can’t receive our emails

We use Plausible for analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data; it records aggregate visit counts only.

We do not collect or store: phone numbers, payment information, location beyond IP‑derived approximate region, or any health, financial, or sensitive personal data.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send you the emails for whichever lists you signed up for, and only those lists
• Honor unsubscribe requests and apply mailbox‑provider bounce and complaint feedback
• Provide proof of consent if requested under GDPR Article 7
• Detect and prevent abuse of the signup form
• Respond to messages you send us, which are read by Ellis Marsh and the Rapid Crush team

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the operation of this publication.

Who we share information with

• AWS (Amazon Web Services): We use Amazon SES to deliver email. AWS processes your email address as a sub‑processor.
• Our hosting provider: Operates the servers that store the subscriber database.
• Plausible Analytics: Receives anonymized visit data only.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any other third party. Ever.

Cookies

We use only first‑party cookies, and only the two we need to operate the site:

• yeseng_sess — a session cookie used for CSRF protection on form submissions. Cleared when you close the browser.
• yeseng_cookie_ok — set when you dismiss the cookie‑and‑privacy notice at the bottom of the page, so we don’t show you the same notice on every visit. Expires after one year.

We do not set tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third‑party cookies. Plausible Analytics, which we use for visit counts, runs cookie‑free.

Data retention

• Confirmed subscribers: retained as long as the subscription is active on at least one list.
• Pending unconfirmed signups: dropped after 7 days if the confirmation link is not clicked.
• Unsubscribed records: the email address is retained on a suppression list, in hashed form where possible, to honor your unsubscribe request and prevent re‑addition by mistake.
• Bounced and complained addresses: kept on the suppression list indefinitely so we don’t attempt to re‑send to mailboxes that have already rejected our mail.

Your rights — GDPR (European Economic Area, UK)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Receive a portable copy of your data
• Object to processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (which you can do by unsubscribing)

To exercise these rights, email support@yesengineer.com with the subject line “GDPR request.” We will respond within 30 days.

Your rights — CCPA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Request disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell)
• Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

This site is operated in the United States. If you are accessing it from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. For material changes affecting how subscriber data is used, we will notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
